Fall days.
When cartoons were original and fun.
Being able to eat what I want and not having consequences.
Not having to rush because play was the most important thing in my life.
Taking the L train downtown with my Grandma and exploring the city on our terms.
Not caring what I wore, as long as it was comfy.
Jumping in piles of snow and leaves.
Experiencing real seasons, not bullshit Arizona ones.
Family gatherings.
Dreaming and truly believing I could be anything I wanted.
Writing my stories and poems.
Climbing crab apple trees at the park.
Snow days and snow men.
Carving pumpkins and baking the seeds.
Trick Or Treating, even though it’s too cold and you have to wear terrible long underwear beneath your costume.
Going to Haunted Trails with my Dad and being so amazed at how he won at everything.
Loving music just for the sound, not what the artist looked like. Just liking it because of how it made me feel.
Performing, the way I used to.
Going to the pumpkin patch and being too scared of the haunted houses.
Hot chocolate in the morning on the way to school.
Playing with my little brother.
Making my family proud.
Getting really stoked about candy.
Spending time and getting along with my Mom. We could talk about anything.
Spending the weekends at my Grandparents in the country. Watching scary movies and going to the market to pick corn.
Reading with my Grandma and my Grandpa.
Playing music in school and singing in choir.
Driving or walking with my Grandma to look at the Christmas lights.
Living in close range to an amazing city.
I miss so many things. It’s amazing how I can look back and enjoy all of these wonderful memories.
What do you miss most?
