My Music
So lately people have been asking what my favorite type(s) of music is. While I can probably enjoy at least one artist from pretty much every genre (I think genres are stupid but people do use them), the music that I always come back to usually deals with exceptional singers because I’m a vocalist. However this isn’t always true. I have my guilty pleasures, in response, some people say “How can you like them!?” or “You’re a singer so you should know better.” While I am not defending myself in anyway, the simple answer would be, if people can listen to Flo Rida, Little John and people who just sample other artist’s music behind some new beats, I have no problem liking artists like Britney Spears and Jeffree Star. At least these artists are being original. There is no problem when you cover a song and make it your own, but “Right Round” by Flo Rida is pretty lame.
Anyway all I can say is, the music that is most played on my ITunes is usually Pop. This can be from Pop Rock like My Favorite Highway, Boys Like Girls, Matchbox Twenty and The Fray, to Pop Punk like All Time Low and Paramore. It also can go as far as to artists like Taylor Swift, an infusion of Pop and Country. With that there is Dance Pop, with the amazing Lady GaGa, Britney Spears, Beyonce and Madonna. Also Electro Pop with Owl City and Jeffree Star.
So you see, my favorite type of music is anything catchy and original. You either have to be an amazing vocalist, or a quirky and original performer with catchy songs. I really do love pretty much everything. These are just my faves :D
