Hey Guys,
So recently Hello Hollywood posted a blog (Click Here To Read) on our page about some comments that were made on our iTunes. Basically someone rated our album very low and claimed that we were very cocky individuals. We have already elaborated on the subject, but I wanna give my own spin on it.
I just want to say sorry to anyone that I have come across as cocky to. It’s strange for people to call me that. I’m not really offended honestly, but it’s a rare thing. Actually while discussing this with friends and family, they found it quite comical. If you know me, you know that I am the exact opposite. I have very little confidence most of the time. So if one doesn’t have confidence, how can you be considered cocky? On the stage is completely a different thing. The stage is my area for creative expression. The persona I choose to display is meant to invigorate you and get you moving. To be loud and awakened, to let you have fun, if nothing else. So if you’re asking me to stop wearing what I wear, and performing the way I do, the answer is a kind but justified NO. Just because other bands like to remain stationary on stage and just play their music, that does not mean Hello Hollywood does the same. For me as a fan of music and concerts, music is only a part of the experience. I find shows that have no visual and emotional connection to the audience to be dull and a waste of my money and time. So I will not let that happen at my performance.
I also feel that I do my absolute best to get to know my fans, sign things for them and anything else I can do. Myspace, Emails and Twitter are a different story. I do my best to answer all of these, people seem to forget that bands who do not make enough money to support themselves, often have to find another means of doing so. I have a life outside of Hello Hollywood, but I give a more than large portion of my time, to my fans.
The most nail biting part of this whole situation is that people really don’t realize everything my band and I have been through, just to get where we are now. There is a false pretense that we were just given money by our parents and get any show we desire because our manager has a small industry connection. I can assure you this isn’t true, but you decide for yourself at the end of the day.
In conclusion, I want to thank all of you who have been by our side since the beginning. You make it possible to keep us going. We appreciate each and everyone of you and try our best to make this known. For those of you who dislike us and find joy in trying to put us down, thank you as well. You’re negative attitudes show me the best example of what I don’t want to be as a person. I am very excited for the future and hope everyone is ready to see not only what Hello Hollywood has in store, but what I have in store as well. The best thing I can say is, love me or hate me. BRING IT.
Love,
Mike
